Bedroom – a sanctuary of rest

Never stay up when you are already tired. Rest, and let tomorrow give you new energy. - Ernest Hemingway

A calm atmosphere

The bedroom is the perfect place to rest and recharge. It sits in the part of the block furthest from the street, away from street noise and the comings and goings of other residents, so it guarantees undisturbed nights.

Flooded with natural light

Thanks to the south-west orientation, the bedroom can be bright all day. Natural light fills not only the living room but the bedroom too, giving good light and a real homely feel until early evening. Of course, the plastic roller shutter built into the frame allows complete blackout, so it will never get in the way of your rest.

Comfort and layout – storage

The bedroom has plenty of space: there is room for an extra-large double bed, small bedside tables fit in easily, and you could even create a reading corner.

A huge sliding-door wardrobe gives enough room for clothes and accessories even for two adults, and the room still has space for further storage alongside the current furniture without feeling cluttered.

View and climate

The bedroom is well insulated (uPVC windows and modern insulated walls). It has no air conditioning of its own, but the indoor unit in the living room can serve the whole flat, so it stays comfortable all year round.

The bedroom window looks straight onto the private garden, so when you wake up and raise the shutter you see a fresh green island instead of the grey city, and in the evening before bed the view adds to the cosy atmosphere of the room.

Technical details

The 12 m² (3 x 4 metres) room with a 2.63-metre ceiling has laminate flooring (130*17 cm boards). Natural light comes through a 140 cm high, 90 cm wide, left-hinged (opening onto the wall) insulated tilt-and-turn uPVC window, and a plastic roller shutter built into the frame provides complete darkness for sleeping.

The bedroom has a ceiling light controlled by a VIKO double light switch. VIKO belongs to the wiring accessories family of Panasonic, the consumer electronics and home appliance maker. There are 6 sockets spread across the 4 walls.

The room is heated by a 600 x 510 mm high-quality steel panel radiator under the window, with a manual thermostatic head.
